The small kernel is clean and blanches well. Whiteheart has replaced this variety as the main commercial cultivar but it flowers early and crops well so may be suited to warm areas where there are problems with Whiteheart pollination. It is a low vigour plant with moderate suckering and is very susceptible to Big Bud Mite.  This variety appears to be identical to Negret, one of the main Spanish hazelnut varieties.
